Can't believe that it's almost here!

My head is spinning and the days are counting down faster than a dust devil in a prairie field!

EQAO is over, reports are on the horizon and my desk is beginning to look like Mount Everest.

Today was our Grade 7 Orientation and I made a wonderful entrance into the gym (where the moms and my ex-students were gathered) when the toe of my sandal caught the carpet trim and I cart-wheeled through the doorway, catching my balance and my composure before landing on the coffee and cookie table. One mom said, "Isn't she cute?". Translation: "I can't believe that old, clumsy fart is still teaching!"

After someone loaned me their Tide Pen to take the coffee stains off the front of my shirt I took a deep breath and counted to 15 which are the exact number of days left in the school year!

I still don't have a job offer and none are looming in the horizon still...
the prospect of a few months off is very attractive so I try to tell myself that the perfect class, in the perfect school, with the perfect Principal, will present itself at just the right moment - remember? The Perfect Storm? It worked for them too!! Just be patient, I say. All things will come to head in due time - no innuendo intended :-)

So, it looks like: Mom and Dad, Neil and Diane, Hopey and Gregg and the kids, and Pete, Matt and I for next weekend. Haven't heard for sure from Diane's girls. I have heard that the twins won't be attending but that's understandable since it is the "Money Making Seaso". We will be thinking of you though.

It's just a light BBQ - meat and salads and lots of beer - I'm not driving anywhere!

Beware of the boxes in the middle of rooms, and please remember to stop and shop at the Duty Free store in the garage before you leave O'ville for the last time.

See you on Saturday - first come, first served!!

Lots of love, and big hugs
Me
