Happy Spring!

Hello everyone!

The spring equinox is here - equal hours of daylight and night time. Summer is right around the corner. How nice to think of warm breezes and long balmy nights, and no school!

I'm sure that most of you know by now that Pete and I have sold our Orangeville home. By the time summer is in full swing we will be ensconced in our new abode in Orleans. What is it with us and homes in towns that begin with the letter "O". Oshawa, Okotoks, Ottawa, Orangeville, and now Orleans. Weird huh?

Our new home is a delightful "Anne of Green Gables" house. Two stories and gables - yellow, green and white, with four bedrooms, a wonderful master bedroom, double garage, and two acres of land with a private nature trail. It is just 10 minutes from Hope's and only 25 from downtown Ottawa and Sarah's place. We are planning our recreation already - thinking of a pool, and hot tub to add to the enjoyment- what better way to guarantee that the grandkids come to see us when they are teens :-)

Peter is very excited because he can pay for the pool in cold hard cash after his latest windfall. He went to the Ottawa Senators game on Tuesday night and bought seven 50/50 tickets for $10. Ticket number 6 was the winner and he won $11, 100. He hasn't got the check in the mail yet but has already spent the money - it's in the "pool" account! You've never seen a more excited man than the one who bought him the ticket to the game! Steven (Sarah's beau) was ecstatic. He bounced all the way home and that had nothing to do with the fact that Ottawa won the game :-)

Pete and I are going to Ottawa on the first weekend of April. Sarah's fundraising group, the FNG (Funds for a New Generation) will be hosting a Gala at the Ottawa Conference Centre. The money earned goes to the Breakfast for Schools program in the city of Ottawa. Pete, Matt, and I are going this year. Pete gave a corporate donation (Forest Park Real Estate is already up and running in the Ottawa area) and we are volunteering our services for the evening. The theme is the "Orient Express" and each room is decorated like a car in the train. There is entertainment galore and food and drink. It should be a blast. And a good cause for a school board that I hope to find employment with.

Speaking of Sarah, she has started her new position this week with the Public Health Agency of Canada. She is Senior Communications Executive. The one to call if you've found a dead bird in your backyard (no fooling). She and Steve are presently house hunting in the Orleans area and they are looking for a five bedroom home - hmmmmmmm

Hope is looking forward to her trip to Cuba with some girlfriends for a week just before Easter and Gregg is looking forward to keeping house and kids for the week - ain't he great? Hope has been working so hard that she deserves this break. She and her friend Claire have been diligently training 3 to 4 times a week for their mini triathalon in May (the weekend of her birthday) and the Walk for Cure in July. If any of you are interested in sponsoring Hope for this worthwhile cause please see her website:http://www.endcancer.ca/site/TR?px=1252401&pg=personal&fr_id=1160

Anyhow, everyone is fine here. Pete is busy at work and I am busy busy, with work and teaching yoga. I have great plans for my new studio in Ottawa. To that end I am taking a certification course in May. This will enable me to teach Yoga for Kids and Yoga for Schools. I am also doing a certificate for Yoga for Golf in June. If I can't find a full time teaching job right away I will be able to suppplement our income teaching yoga- lots of fun and a good income to boot. It doesn't get any better.

So long for now, hope everyone is doing well. Here's to a great spring and some spring like weather.

Hugs,Deb
