Sunday Morning
I'm sitting here drinking my tea. It's 11 am and I'm still in my housecoat - talk about your lazy morning. Pete and I have been chatting about what a great time we had, how much the little ones seemed to enjoy themselves (and what a great job they did cleaning up), about the surprises we found after everyone left:
Someone left a plastic bag of winter clothing on the coat rack in the back hall
Someone left some earphones on the kitchen table
Someone left two Christmas oranges in the upstairs bathroom and I think I know who :-)
Someone left a game memory card (maybe Evan?)
I think Jenny left a cookie container.
Except for the oranges, you can let me know how and when I can get these items back to the owners. Matt ate the oranges lol
Pete and I spoke about how alike he and his brothers are, about what lovely girls we have in the family and how grown up Amy and Ali are, about how nice it was to meet Rhonda (welcome to the family!) and Brooklyn (sp?), and Evan. How the family continues to grow. We are amazed at Jenny's ability to juggle the demands of all the men in her family and stay so calm and happy! We are amazed at how much Diane, Sarah, and Amy resemble each other (strong DNA). We learned something new (seafood is definitely NOT a big hit with this group - especially with Tony!). We thought it tooo funny that all of us drive vans - did anyone else notice how Brooklyn's VW stuck out like a rose amongst thorns? - punch buggy no punch backs !
Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! For spending your valuable downtime in a long tedious drive with little children, for spending your hard earned money on expensive gas, for the food, the drinks, the fun, the laughter, for the willingness of the teens to hang out with the old folks, for all the hugs, for MSN so that Sarah and Ethan and Steve could be here too!, for digital cameras so that when I figure out how - I can post some pictures on the blog, and for bus systems that keep to a schedule so that Matt made it in time to see everyone, eat, and crash before everyone left.
Have a wonderful Christmas everyone. Our love goes out to those who couldn't be with us: Hope and the gang, Carole, Tracey, Jeff. Maybe next year. Maybe in Ottawa!?
Love and hugs,
Debbie
PS Check the blog for regular updates. It's a great way to stay in touch. Don't forget to take the Lawley Times address with you when you go to Italy Amy!
Ciao!
