Ottawa Update
I hope that everyone doesn't think that I am getting too verbose but the purpose of a blog is to share ideas and events, so...
Here we are in Ottawa. We drove through a terrible snow storm (actually the remnants) and there were so many cars, vans, semis, in the ditch that I worried that we would not be in time.
Sydney's daycare - called 'The Hub"- is a combination daycare, junior and senior kindergarten. The Christmas concert was planned for 3:30 PM and we was determined to be there.
Pete says that he should be driving for UPS because we arrived at 3:27 PM. Can you believe that? I had wanted to leave the house at 8:30 AM but after nagging and hollering I couldn't get my men out of bed until almost 8 and we didn't leave until almost 9. And still we ended up being there in time.
The kids were sooooo cute! Waving, crying, staring off into space, running into the arms of their parents, shouting "Hi Mommy!", forgetting their cues, forgetting to sing - absolutely hilarious and well worth the trip.
The highlight of course was Syd getting acquainted with her Uncle Matt. She kept staring at him and smiling, and doing the finger wave all the while looking at him like he had grown two heads. He looked familiar but not quite familiar enough! Well, they got along like "two peas in pod". Syd enjoyed sharing her favourite foods at the pot luck, allowed Matt to read her a story, sharing a bowl of chili with him for supper and then got out of bed so that she could have one last cuddle on his lap. What a hoot watching the preternatually bacherlor sitting with a wee girly and delicatly blowing on her chili to cool it down.
Anyway, both girls were eager to hear all about the reunion. Who was there and how everyone was. Both so sorry that they couldn't be there.
I went to see an astrologist yesterday. I've been to see him before and he has been "bang on" with his interpretations. Anyhow, when I asked him if this is a good time to move to Ottawa he said that according to my charts we should have been there all along and that the decision has already been made to move closer to the family. He did add though, that now was definitely not the right time - especially for Pete finding employment. Apparently, we missed our auspicious time slot. So we wait for the stars to guide us.
Stop laughing Mark and Tony and Syd! I know what you're thinking. I'm not totally loonie tunes yet ;-)
But today was the concert, tomorrow pictures with Santa, and the tree. How could we not want to be closer to the action? Seems like Ottawa is our heart center right now. Pete says, "what if we move there and then they move away because of jobs, etc?" Well, I say, "Look at your mom and dad. They just keep selling and moving forward. What great examples. Nothing is forever, or cast in stone. Everything is dynamic.
So, I'll keep you posted. The decision is made. Now, the big question is...
Will you all come to us for the reunion? Or will someone else take on the mantle?
Love and hugs
Deb
